Central is a specialty subcontractor with a focus on commercial high-end wall and ceiling construction.
Our success is driven by strong relationships with clients who lead us to work in a variety of exciting construction projects.
We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced People & Culture Specialist to join our team.
This role requires an individual with a diverse set of skills, able to address HR matters while also driving the recruiting & marketing strategy of our company.
A successful candidate will possess a self-starter mentality, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, independence, and the ability to proactively identify and address tasks or problems related to their role.
Responsibilities:
People & Culture Manage development and engagement initiatives for the company, including performance management, corporate training, employee feedback, and companywide activities that support our mission, vision, and values.
Develop & manage the recruitment process to attract and retain employees that align with the company's overall business strategy.
Build connections with local schools and universities to help attract future job candidates Develop a strategy around marketing the company to both current/future clients & employees Lead the overall performance management process, including preparing applicable timelines, communication, review administration, training, documentation, calibration, and other activities to ensure performance management is administered effectively, consistently, and compliantly.
Support employees with goal setting by ensuring that performance goals are clearly defined and documented, and that individual development plans are met with solutions to support the ongoing growth of our people and company.
Provide continuous improvements and suggestions regarding talent development and employee engagement programs and processes to the head of HR and executive team.
Support people leaders with training initiatives related to leading teams, having effective 1:
1s, and how to best handle feedback conversations.
Responsible for administering feedback connections, such as employee surveys, roundtable discussions, and regular ad hoc conversations for the company to Create and analyze relevant KPIs, data and metrics and provide recommendations to help guide executive leadership to best position the company's talent and engagement initiatives.
Human Resources Lead benefits open enrollment and ongoing administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, LTD, 401k, life insurance, and FSA & HSA plans Develop and administer a compensation program, including compensation reviews and surveys to ensure equitable and fair pay Create and maintain employee files and other employment records; process forms related to employee changes, hires and terminations Complete all compliance and HR reporting documents Ensure company remains in compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, discipline, and termination Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, specifically related to FMLA, etc.
Develop and maintain employee policies to ensure compliance and best practices; support communication and training to ensure consistent implementation Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience working in human resources Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community Sound judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information Knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other state and federal regulations Innovative thinker who can contribute to continuous improvement of protocols, policies and operating procedures and adapt to new technology and platforms Resourceful and able to multitask, prioritize, manage time effectively Work Conditions:
While performing the duties of this position the employee will be regularly required to:
sit, stand and walk for moderate durations at a time; talk and hear; use hands for utilizing a keyboard, phone or writing utensil.
Occasionally the employee maybe required to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
I am not sure some of these are needed for this position.
Additionally, on occasional site visits the employee will be exposed to:
inclement weather; use of ladders, (temporary) stairs and staging; moving objects and equipment; slippery and uneven footing; and a high noise level.
PPE:
Hi-Vis vests, hard hats and gloves will be provided to all employees.
Employees are expected to provide their own boots.
All employees are expected to wear appropriate PPE when on site.
Some exposures will need to be specifically planned for (fall protection, silica, etc).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
